Good morning and happy Thursday! It’s been a hot second since I’ve checked in with y’all on this little space. As I’ve said in the past, my hiatus from the blog is certainly not intentional. My full-time job is incredibly demanding, so I’m choosing to invest most of my limited free time in expanding my personal life. I’ve been at my new job for about 6 months now, and it’s been…well…humbling 🙂 I would like to do a recap post on my 1-year anniversary, but I’m still trying to balance how to share more about my career without sharing too much. When many of your patients are attached to their smart phones, you start to think a lot more critically about what you want to share on the interwebs!
Nonetheless, I’ve felt a pull back to this space the past 2-3 weeks, and I’m excited to be back today. I’ve missed you! I’m currently staring out the window of my favorite coffee shop at an overcast grey sky lurking over the Seattle cityscape. Seattle really is a serene city, even when it’s cool and drizzly. And, I’m happy to report that this is the first sense of calm I’ve had all week. I’ll head to work shortly, but the last 30 minutes of alone time and self-reflection were very necessary!
IF WE WERE HAVING COFFEE, I’D TELL YOU…
lately, I’ve spent a lot of time living in the present, and very little time planning ahead. what a nice break it’s been! but the wheels are starting to turn again, and I’m excited to add to my bucket list
can’t stop, won’t stop listening to this song
I want a kitten! I can’t have one in my current apartment, but my plan is to adopt one if/when I move into my own place
Seattle summer has arrived, and I’m LOVING it
I have a vacation coming up in August and need to start planning for it. I was thinking of trying to go to BANFF, but now I’m dreaming of a beach getaway. Suggestions welcome!
DSW is my favorite, and shoes are quickly becoming my vice. I take a few too many pictures of my feet, but shoes are just so pretty! I recently got my first pair of TOMS. The “suede” is appropriate for work – comfortable AND cute!
I have yet to visit Portland, but I’m itching to take a weekend trip to explore the food scene. Any recommendations from readers on where to stay/go/eat?
The Three Aminos Podcast: Real Nutrition for Real People has hit 1000+ downloads for the past 3 months. We are so proud of how much it has grown and I want to extend a big THANK YOU to anyone who has listened/shared the podcast.
I’m feeling very settled right now. My work is stressful, and my personal life can be a circus at times, but I feel really good. And typing that out feels really good, because I spent much of the past two and a half years in the trenches working through a lot of internal and external “stuff”. To be able to take a deep breath on the other side of it all is refreshing and empowering. I now realize just how far I have come, and that’s an incredible reflection to sit with.
